Prima men\u021biune documentar\u0103 a bisericii dateaz\u0103 din anul 1332. L\u0103ca\u0219ul de cult original, construit \u00een secolul al XIII-lea, era mult mai mic dec\u00e2t cel actual, iar partea sa estic\u0103 este considerat\u0103 a fi cea mai veche. Forma actual\u0103 a bisericii, \u00een stil gotic t\u00e2rziu, a fost probabil finalizat\u0103 \u00een 1547, c\u00e2nd patronul Dacz\u00f3 P\u00e1l a reconstruit-o pe propria cheltuial\u0103.\nDe-a lungul timpului, numeroase cutremure au afectat biserica, provoc\u00e2nd daune semnificative. Construc\u021bia religioas\u0103 era ini\u021bial \u00eenconjurat\u0103 de dou\u0103 ziduri de ap\u0103rare \u2013 un inel fortificat \u2013 \u0219i avea dou\u0103 turnuri de veghe. Zidul exterior a fost demolat \u00een 1786 la decizia comunit\u0103\u021bii religioase, iar pietrele rezultate au fost folosite pentru a construi, conform ordinului \u00eemp\u0103ratului Iosif al II-lea, o \u0219coal\u0103 german\u0103, cl\u0103dire care se afl\u0103 l\u00e2ng\u0103 turnul clopotni\u021bei \u0219i care ast\u0103zi serve\u0219te drept locuin\u021b\u0103 pentru cantor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sepsiszentgy\u00f6rgyi Reform\u00e1tus V\u00e1rtemplom<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A \u00cen curtea<\/strong> bisericii fortificate se afl\u0103 mormintele unor personalit\u0103\u021bi marcante legate de Sepsiszentgy\u00f6rgy, printre care fo\u0219tii primari Cs\u00e1sz\u00e1r B\u00e1lint \u0219i G\u00f6dri Ferenc, precum \u0219i M\u00e1lik J\u00f3zsef, fondatorul \u0219i editorul ziarului Sz\u00e9kely Nemzet. Tot aici au fost reinstalate obeliscurile dedicate martirilor revolu\u021biei din 1848, V\u00e1radi J\u00f3zsef \u0219i Bartalis Ferenc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zidul fortifica\u021biei, dinspre cimitir, este \u00eenconjurat de numeroase kopjaf\u00e1k (st\u00e2lpi funerari secuie\u0219ti). Primul a fost ridicat \u00een 1983 de fo\u0219tii elevi ai Colegiului Sz\u00e9kely Mik\u00f3, promo\u021bia 1943. De atunci, num\u0103rul acestora a crescut la peste \u0219aptezeci, fiecare fiind dedicat profesorilor \u0219i elevilor trecu\u021bi \u00een nefiin\u021b\u0103 ai prestigiosului colegiu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
